What is the process for Fiano Landscapes to build our outdoor living space?
We feel that a great finished product always starts with a great design! We measure your residence to layout the space included into the design area. The elements and features discussed in the original consultation will be incorporated into the landscape plan. Concept renderings of the space will help you visualize the project, before the ground is broken. Once the design is approved you will be given a start date for construction. When our crew arrives they will be present until the project is completed. This ensures a quicker transition into your new space, and less time your residence is under construction. We have a knowledgeable staff to answer any question you may have during the construction process.

What information do we need to get the design process started?
We do not expect our customers to have all the specifics worked out with the project. As landscape designers all we feel you need is the basic elements you might want to incorporate(fire pit, pergola, outdoor kitchen, lighting, softscapes etc). Our design staff will take those elements and incorporate them into the space on the design.

What is the difference between a concrete patio & a paver patio?
A concrete patio is a rigid surface. It is designed to set still for the life of the surface. Which is mostly why in Indiana with the freeze thaw cycles and the movements in the ground cause it to crack. Poured concrete surfaces also absorb more water than the traditional paver causing deterioration much more quickly than a concrete paver. A concrete paver is a manufactured concrete product. It is compressed in the mold to over 9000 psi when made, making it a very dense product absorbing little to no water. The paver surface is also a flexible surface allowing for very subtle movement during freeze thaw cycles. Combined with a lifetime warranty we feel it is the ideal choice for your hardscape surface.

What do you do about the sand washing out of the joints between the pavers?
Rest easy! We install polymeric sand into the joints of our paver surfaces. Polymeric sand is a mixture of fine sand with with polymers. Once the paver surfaces are swept in with the polymeric sand the areas are wet down to activate the polymers and begin the curing process. Once the joints are dry they harden. The joints will now be more resistant to weed growth, insects, and washout from water. So you spend less time maintaining your space and more time enjoying it.
